Outstanding Exact Pair of Federal Period Mahogany and Bird's-eye Maple Inlaid Card Tables Portsmouth NH Citca 1810

This is an exact pair, not an assembled one, as the card tables are perfectly matched in all details and were made together as a pair. Their distinctive shapes and provenance (descended through the Simes family of prominent Portsmouth merchants) indicate they were made in Portsmouth, NH. Their slender reeded legs and beautifully matched bird's-eye maple, flame birch and rosewood veneers contrasted against the mahogany woods create an incredibly attractive appearance. This outstanding pair of card tables would honor the finest collection of American Federal furniture. In addition they are in excellent original structural condition.
