Corner Chair

An exceptional William and Mary corner chair-beautifully designed, with unusual and precisely-turned posts, turned stretchers, double ball-turned rear feet, and with an elegant Spanish foot in the front. No repair or restoration and retaining much of its original red paint. Maple throughout, probably North Shore, MA, c.1740. A nearly identical chair, with 19th century overpaint and without a Spanish foot, sold at Northeast Auctions (The Lefkowitz sale) lot #691 in 2007 for $34,800.00. 32" ht, seat ht. 17". The rush seat is modern.
