George Washington signed ships passport, schooner "Fair Lady" of Kingston/Duxbury, MA

Three language ships passport for the schooner Fair Lady of Kingston/Duxbury, MA with Joshua Delano as Master on the  17th day of December, 1796.  The printed passport is signed by George Washington as President and Timothy Pickering as Secretary of State, and others.


The Fair Lady was bound for St. Croix laden with "Scantilly Slaves, Hoops, Shingles, and Flour".


The passport is in fine condition with minor folding crease holes.  George Washington's signature is dark and bold.

It retains the Great Seal of the United States and the three required tax stamps. The passport is in French, English, and Dutch.  It has been archivally mounted and faced with UV glass in the circa 1900's frame in which it was purchased 14 years ago.
