LIVERPOOL CREAMWARE PITCHER MADE FOR THE AMERICAN MARKET CIRCA 1790-1810

"Peace, Plenty and Independence". The Liverpool ceramics makers certainly knew how to market their wares in America. The patriotic motifs literally cover the entire side of this large size pitcher. The other side is a very rare transfer that we have not seen before nor is it on any example in the famous Teitelman collection. Note the large eagle with an "almost" American flag peeking out from behind the rocks on the right. The transfer is titled below "Putting Off". Could it represent a young man taking leave of his sweetheart and going off to America?
The pitcher is in overall very good condition with some minor invisible professional repairs to a short hairline and a rim chip.
