A Portuguese- Brazilian Colonial side chair with beautifully pierce-carved crest, skirt & knees on bold ball & claw feet.
Retains the original seat frame (with through tenon construction) and embossed leather seat.
The wood is Jacaranda and native to Brazil.
This type of furniture has a pronounced English influence due to Portugal's interest in things English because Portugal was an ally during the War of Spanish Succession (1703)
