This bold dark blue and white design is woven with white cotton and blue wool in a double weave technique. The coverlet has applied fringes on the sides and a self-fringed bottom edge and is seamed down the center. It is in all original and excellent condition with no repairs or wear areas. This piece would have been woven by a professional male weaver, which would have been typical for this time and this area in southeastern Pennsylvania.
