Mary Fenton, Bucks County, Pennsylvania



A charming 18th century house sampler worked by Mary Fentun (Fenton) at the age of nine years in 1789. This delightful work has numerous motifs found in Delaware Valley needlework of the period including pine trees, the floral urn, the Georgian mansion and peacocks. Mary was baptized at the Low Dutch Church of Southhampton. Excellent condition and fully conserved.
