A Shaker Sewing Stand with Drawer

A recent find of what had been thought a form with one unique example. Made in the same shop and probably by the same hand as the other well-known stand, which descended in the family of Edward Deming and Faith Andrews. This stand is constructed of maple, cherry, butternut and pine and was probably refinished during the first half of the 20th C. The cleated dovetailed yoke support for the single under-hung drawer is a design feature seen in only a handful of Shaker stands.  Restoration to a small portion of leg.
