Complex three-dimensional brooch in the form of a rose. Hallmarks indicate it was made at Taller Borda by Hector Aguilar or one of his silver designers. We think there is a strong possibility that it might have been made by Valentin Vidduarreta.
It is an early work and is fairly rare. Silver content is 940 silver, more pure than sterling silver (925 silver). The higher the purity, the more difficult silver is to work.
Hector Aguilar is recognized as being one of the masters of silver jewelry from Taxco. He produced works of terrific quality and design. This brooch is very graceful and looks good at all angles. It is in excellent condition.
