After working for William Spratling, Antonio Castillo, and Hector Aguilar, Enrique Ledesma opened his own shop, Plateria Ledesma, circa 1950, during the classic period of silver design and silver production in Taxco, Mexico. His designs were clean, modern and lyrical. The stones are chrysophase. Hougart says in his Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks that "(m)any of his pieces were sold through, and were co-marked with, Plateria Cortes", as is true with this set.
This brooch and earring set may be broken up if you desire only the brooch or the pair of earrings. The earrings have screwbacks but they may be converted if the purchaser desires. Please contact us for the price of the individual piece.
