More than 620 excellent photographs and illustrations, of wwhich 376 are in full color. Betty Ring was the guru of American schoolgirl needlework. She published several works on the subject, but this is the most all encompassing. She looked at all regions, divided them by school when possible and dates. Volume 1 covers the Massachusetts regions of Essex, Western Massachusettsm Boston, etc., Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine. Volume II looks at New York, Pennsylvania, New jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia and the South. The single best resource for anyone who has an interest, wants to learn, or needs a good source for regional identification.
