A Classical Armchair

This beautiful American Classical armchair is both ample in size and elegant in its silhouette. The bowed crest rail is inset with a burled elm panel framed with an inlayed line of ebony. The scrolled arms end with concentrically turned volutes. While the front legs are composed of tapering facets and ring turnings, the rear legs flare outward and are also raised on brass casters with gilt lacquered finishes. The upholstered back and large slip seat are covered in a period appropriate linen and wool harateen.
