Circa 1930-40's Santa Domingo Pueblo, New Mexico thunderbird necklace. This form of Native American jewelry was constructed from repurposed bakelite casings of automobile batteries or 78 records adorned with turqoise and strung beads. During 1930-40's silver was precious because of the Great Depression and then due to the secord World War. This example is in very nice condition with minor wear an minimal losses as expected. The necklace has been professionally re-strung and silver clasps attached so it can be safely worn.
