Though created for scientific purposes, this image of a male inner torso is strikingly beautiful with its deep blue tonal range and confrontational subject.
This work is part of a small group of cyanotypes by the same unknown photographer/physician. Others in the series are held in the collections of MOMA, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and The Metropolitan Museum.
