A very charming piece of German stoneware—a heart-shaped, elaborately worked scent bottle with two large birds and a cherub’s head on both sides. On one side, above the head of a cherub, signed "D.B or DoB 28 B"
Manganese highlighting around the edge of the heart, and collection number written on top of opening.
For a related, but later piece, cf. "Kataloge des Kunstgewerbemuseums Koln, Steinzeug,p. 408, fig 741.
