19th C. American "Family Record sampler" Lydia A. Heath of Lynn, MA, at age 14, 1831

Lydia A. Heath
Lynn, MA dated 1831

Lydia worked this remarkable dynamic family record sampler at age 14.  It retains its incredible inlayed wood frame and original glass.

She was the second oldest of eleven children born to John Heath and Lydia Garbox who married when he was 21 and she was 18 years old.  John’s occupation is listed as fishermen in the 1850 census.

This sampler was a family heirloom that was actively updated with death dates of Lydia’s parents and two siblings and then someone added Lydia’s death in 1875.

Silk on linen.
