A rare Boston commode that has been converted into a cabinet. The front is decorated with bookmatched mahogany veneers and a birds eye maple oval. In Winterthur's Boston furniture archive there is a commode/cabinet attributed to Joshua Chevver that looks and is made just like this one. Even has the same kind of dovetailed backboards.
Condition: Again this was a commode converted into a cabinet now with a removable tray and mirror. The top and maple oval have shrinkage cracks.
