4.1 x 6.8 Antique Bidjar Rug, Herati Design, Northwest Persia, Circa 1910
Woven in northwest Persia’s Kurdistan province on a wool foundation, this antique Bidjar rug features a brick red field that is decorated with the classical Herati design. The multi-point navy medallion has mid blue anchor pendants. The corner spandrels feature insets that go from pale yellow to ivory. The sky blue guard borders are a beautiful feature.
