5.2 x 6.1 Antique Heriz Serapi Rug, Northwest Persia, Circa 1900
A rare small Heriz rug of the caliber often referred to as antique “Serapi” rugs. This example is part of a distinctive group, more typically found in room size carpet formats than small rugs, with pairs of leaves in the medallion complemented by arching leaves in the field and a pair of split leaves in the corner spandrels. The green ground color in the spandrels is uncommon and quite beautiful.
Minor loss at ends. Minor wear to pile and foundation showing. Old flat-stitch and/or repiling repair that can be redone to a higher standard. Priced accordingly and "as is". We can complete the restoration for the purchases at additional cost.
