Oversized Delft tobacco jar, Tabac Rappee. Rappe is a powered form of dried tobacco that  originated in Amazonia. It's nicotine content is very high thus highly addictive. This is a beautiful larger than usual example.

The jar is mid 18thc., and of Dutch origin.

The jar is in very good condition. There is an age crack that is visible in the photos. It has been fixed, I chose not to hide it. There was also glaze loss around the widest points of the jar that have been restored.
