UNIQUE PAIR OF GILT AND STENCILED NEOCLASSICAL CONSOLE TABLES MADE IN NEW YORK C.1820

We did an exhaustive search of the internet and could not find another pair of American neoclassical console tables!  These two tables are distinguished by their gilt, stenciled and painted surfaces which are not only original but in excellent estate condition.  This means that the finishes have been left alone along with minor imperfections like an occasional chip or crack.  The most knowledgable sophisticated collectors prefer this because it is proof of the authenticity of the pieces.  Note that the table tops are grain painted by hand to simulate rosewood while the gilt decorative embellishments on the aprons are applied by hand and the stenciling on the bases are also hand done.  We are guessing that the tables may have been made in NYC although a good case can be made for Albany.  We are selling the pair of tables to include complete conservation of all the surfaces and any restoration needed to museum standards with buyer's total consent.
