American Kasten: The Dutch-Style Cupboards of New York and New Jersey, 1650-1800

American Kasten: The Dutch-Style Cupboards of New York and New Jersey, 1650-1800 was written by Peter Kenney and published by The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1991 in conjunction with an exhibition of the same name that took place from January 19-April 7, 1991. Softcover, 80pp, featuring 17 kast, 1 toy kast and a spoon board. The only resource that covers the furniture form exclusively. Ther are a vew few other books that show an example or two, or discuss the subject briefly, but this has been the only exhibition to date that has taken such a close look at the form. Excellent essay on the form, and each object is accompanied by a full page black and white photograph and extensive catalogue information and context for each kast. Terrific catalogue. The book is in Very Fine condition, with a crease at the top right corner and a thin scratch on the front cover. See photographs.
