New England, ca. 1770-1790.
Mahogany, pine and poplar secondary woods.
Excellent condition, retains old, if not original surface.
The desk portion has a slant-lid with a book rest opening to a fitted interior with pigeon holes and shaped valences above drawers. The desk rests on a frame with a molded edge supported by tall Chippendale legs joined by stretchers. This piece displays wonderful proportions while being very utilitarian.
