90 pages of song lyrics and over 60 drawings illustrate a soldier (fair to say officer’s) wartime experience in France, during the first decade of the 1900s.
The drawings interact between the roles of women from society courtiers to dancers, prostitutes and bar maids as told through the songs and lyrics chosen by the artist’s hand.
Consistent toning with minimal foxing. Sewn spine is loose and is finished with a linen strip, a few modest but non acidic repairs to page seams.
Includes hand drawn postcard from Lausanne (Switzerland) French Guard.
