A late 19th century Bidjar carpet from northwest Persia's Kurdistan province. This carpet features the famous "open field" format with a navy blue, coral and yellow medallion with Anchor pendants floating on an abrashed red field. Navy blue corner spandrels with the classical Herati design and yellow zoomorphic motifs and a deep sky blue Turtle border frame the field.
Generally very good condition with uneven wear and areas of foundation showing.
