Chinese Export Porcelain Famille Verte Dish,
Kangxi Period
Circa 1700-20.
The circular deep dish had a central design of a tree with iron-red blossoms with one bird alighted on a branch and another hovering, both watching a large cricket which stands on central leaf. The inner border consists of alternating panels of famille verte trees and branches on a green ground and oval panels with leaves on a white background. The border with a crimped pie-crust or gadrooned edge rim with alternating bands of orange and white.
