New England, ca 1790 to 1820. In a high state of originality, including surface, backboard, and silvered-mirror glass. The surface is dry and crusty, with strong patina, of a black striping over what looks to be a tan/salmon ground on molded pine with edge beading. Back joined by cut nails. About 8 1/4 inches tall x 6 1/2 wide x 1/2 thick. A terrific survivor.
