Set in Carrig-Rohane period frameA fine landscape by well-known Old Lyme artist and member of the National Academy.  Born in New York City, George Bruestle studied at the Art Students League and in Paris.  From 1897 – 1901 he worked as an illustrator for Harper’s, and then lived in Old Lyme where he was a key member of the group of artists at Florence Griswold’s house.  He was active in the Lyme Art Association and exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy, the National Academy, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Corcoran.
