SCARCE CREAMWARE ALPHABET PLATE "THE WHITE HOUSE, WASHINGTON"

Alphabet plates were made for children in England in the 1830-50 period.  The center transfers were common English scenes and activities.  Ones with American scenes made for export to America were uncommon and this view of the early White House is actually quite rare.  Additionally, the added hand coloring of the transfer makes it even more desirable.
