Peter Eaton

I specialize in New England furniture made between 1650 and 1820, with a particular emphasis on William and Mary, country Queen Anne, and Federal period furniture from eastern Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Connecticut River Valley. I have maintained an open shop continously since the fall of 1970. My emphasis is always on form and surface, buying and selling pieces that reflect the aesthetic judgement and skill of the maker--and that retain their structural and surface integrity.

The shop, which is shared with my wife, folk art dealer Joan Brownstein, is located in a three story contemporary home in Newbury, MA. A number of articles, have been written about our choice to live with antiques and folk art in a very contemporary setting.

We always welcome visitors, though a call ahead is advised!
